Alidad Daftari

Dr Alidad Daftari is a Specialist Periodontist with advanced training in the diagnosis, treatment, and regeneration of the tissues that support the teeth. He has a particular interest in periodontal regeneration, having conducted proof-of-principle research on regenerative materials, and frequently treats aesthetic gum concerns including gummy smiles and gum recession.

Dr Daftari initially qualified with a degree in Microbiology with Biomedical Sciences before completing his Doctor of Medical Dentistry. He worked in general practice and subsequently obtained Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS). He later completed a one-year multi-system implantology course, which led him to pursue specialist training in Periodontology.

In 2012 he began a three-year full-time specialist training programme in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. He achieved his MClinDent in Periodontics in 2014, followed by an Advanced Diploma in Periodontology in 2015, and later gained Membership in Restorative Dentistry (MRD) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Alidad’s clinical expertise includes the full scope of periodontal care — gum disease treatment, regenerative periodontal surgery, cosmetic gum procedures, implant-related periodontal management, bone and soft-tissue augmentation, and long-term maintenance planning for patients with complex periodontal conditions.
